Volkswagen Touareg R50
It is a version done on the Touareg V10 TDI (313 hp); looks different and some modifications on the engine to give 351 hp, 38 hp more.
The off-road diesel closest in power (in descending order) are the Audi Q7 4.2 TDI (326 hp), 5.0 Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI (313 hp) and Mercedes-Benz ML and GL 420 CDI with the engine (306 hp) . In late 2008, Audi plans to sell a version of the Q7 with a V12 TDI engine from 500 hp (more).
The Touareg R50 costs € 100,230, almost 15,000 more than € version and which derives more than any other off-road diesel for sale in Spain, although it is the most powerful of them all.
The Touareg R50 accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 6.7 s, representing an improvement of 0.7 s regarding the release of 313 hp. Still however, is not among the fastest of its kind: the Audi Q7 4.2 TDI and the Mercedes-Benz ML 420 CDI are the most. The Volkswagen Touareg has a high weight in all its versions.
The average consumption approved unchanged regarding the version V10 TDI (11.9 litres/100 km) and, although high, has a more favorable relationship between maximum power and consumption. The top speed is 4 km / h higher (reaching 235 kph).
A Touareg gasoline from the same power is slower and spends more than R50. The price difference between the two is very rounded (gasoline costs about € 30,000 less, about € 14,000 if they call the equipment) so the economy of diesel is not an advantage when deciding on either (yes that what may be the autonomy).
The change is automatic six-speed Tiptronic-type.
The suspension is a pneumatic and electronically variable damping. The range of the Touareg can have different types of suspension. The tyres are 295 mm wide and are mounted on wheels 21 “in diameter.
On the bodywork change the bumpers, grille, wheel arches and side skirts. The brake calipers are painted blue, like the rest of the model range R. There are four colors available for bodywork: Blue, White Campanella, Reflex Silver, Black Magic and gray Atacama.
The seats are sporty type, are regulated electric and heating. They are upholstered with napa and include the R50 logo.
