BMW 1 Series Coupe

The 1 Series Coupe is available with two diesel engines: 120d (177 hp) and 123d (204 hp) and two petrol 135i, with 306 hp and 125I (218 hp). The latter option is new within the range.

It is on sale from € 30,900. In other words, is some 1,100 € more expensive than a five-door 1 Series with the same engine and a very similar equipment.
BMW 1 Series Coupe

The reasons for choosing this car, compared to a 1 Series with a body of three or five doors, have to do with the look of your body, or the possibility of mounting the gasoline engine of 305 hp, which is very good and that within the 1 Series, is available only with the bodywork Coupe or convertible.

Another reason for choosing the Series1 Coupe is perhaps easier to drive in difficult conditions that a Series 1 with a body of three or five doors. In any case, the difference is very small and hardly noticeable.

1 Series Coupe retains the dynamic characteristics of any other Series 1, which is a suspension rather tough and a high stability, especially when asphalt is not deteriorated. Also noteworthy was the good performance of their engines.

The interior of the Coupe is no more spacious than others Series1. In fact, over a Series 1 with gate, the collapse of the roof of the Coupe remains precious few centimeters tall free, people will notice that from 1.75 m, and in addition is only approved for four seats.

BMW 1 Series Coupe

The trunk itself is larger than that of any other Series1, but it is more difficult because you have to stick bulky cap rather than gate. From series, supported by the rear seats of the Coupe are folding.

We have thoroughly tested the 123d version that has a diesel engine of 204 hp. It is one of the cars diesel power with this enhanced relationship between consumption and benefits. The 123d is a very fast car and with which they can make a normal highway driving or highway spending slightly less than 7.0 litres/100 km, which is very little to its power.

However, this may be the best alternative for bodywork Diesel Coupe is the 120d of 177 hp. The € 2,700 which costs over the 123d, 120d I seem hardly justified by superior performance but that only come to the fore clearly under certain conditions, and since speeds not allowed in Spain. In addition, the 120d spends less than the 123d.

There are even those of the 177 hp 120d not needed. For them, one disadvantage of Series 1 Series Coupe over other 1 is that you can not have (at least for now) diesel and gasoline engines less powerful BMW.

The 1 Series Coupe measured just over 1 Series that the length of three five-door: 4,360 mm instead of 4,239 (121 mm). The height and width of the three bodies of the Class 1 are very similar.
BMW 1 Series Coupe

The Coupe weighs only 5 kg more than the 1 Series three-door, equal engine and equipment. The drag is practically the same in all three bodies (0.63 square meters).

The aspect of all versions are equal. The exception is the 135i, which has a set number of ‘M’ which includes elements that change its exterior appearance and interior, wheels and adjusting the suspension (stiffer and reduced).

BMW 1 Series
The BMW 1 Series is available from € 22,900. It is available with a body of three or five doors and a range of engines comprises four petrol (122-hp 116i, 118i, 143 hp from 170 hp 120i and 130I of 265 hp) and three diesel (143 hp, 118D, 120d from 177 hp to 204 hp and 123d). All engines are notable for having a good performance and a great relationship between consumption and benefits.
The three-door body is between 1,600 and 1,800 € cheaper than five, except in the most powerful versions (130I and 123d) where the difference is smaller (1,000 and € 700, respectively). Price, equipment and technical data sheet for all versions of five doors and three doors.

A BMW 1 Series has a higher price and an interior space smaller than other models of its size, with the exception of the Audi A3
The range 2008 Series 1 (on sale since September) has some changes: two new engines (116i and 123d) and changes in other two (118D and 120d).
BMW 1 Series
The 116i now bears a direct injection engine of 122 hp (6 hp more) and six-speed manual (previously five). There is a significant reduction in consumption of almost 2.0
The 123d is on sale from € 32,500. Move the 2.0 l diesel engine more powerful than is sold at present (204 hp). It has some benefits slightly higher than those of the 120d, consuming very content.
The 118D and the 120d have changes in the regime of maximum torque and now consume less (comparative). There is no model similar to 120d having some better benefits or that consume less.

BMW 1 Series
The Series 1 does not have a very extensive range of equipment. Optionally, however, can have a large number of elements that are not available in most cars of this size. The quality of finishing a Series 1 is well above average, especially in the impression that conveys solidity.
Also unlike other models, Series 1 is pulling back, instead of traction or full frontal. Since the stability control is part of series equipment, which is rear traction is not a problem and it reported some practical advantages such as more room for manoeuvre and a tire wear more uniform.
The stability is not better than some models of traction lead. The Series 1 has good touch in general, but is not a shortened version of the 3 Series, a model that may have a higher degree of accuracy and less sensitivity to strong acceleration or cornering decelerations.
BMW 1 Series
The suspension which we feel is more advisable to have the number. The hardest-optional-is only advisable for those who will not mind that the car is somewhat uncomfortable on roads with potholes such that, on roads in good condition, is more stable than with the standard suspension.
All versions of the Series 1 (especially since the range 2007) are distinguished because they do not spend much fuel. – All versions except the 130I-have direct injection. In addition, there are other interesting measures to lower consumption
The 120i has a very nice engine. It gives a performance standard for power in relation to other cars atmospheric, but it is slower than similar cars with turbocharger. The interesting thing about this engine is that, taking into account its power, engine capacity and fuel type, you can spend very little.
The 120d is in between the cars like Diesel, the best performance. Although it only has 7 hp more than the 120i, the feeling that gives the lead and when measuring performance is that the 120d is much stronger. The disadvantage is that 120d can have a roughness when the engine running at idle or low speeds (not road), which does not have the 120i. Since the 120i and the 120d have virtually the same price, Diesel may be more advisable if the benefits are valued and that the cost per kilometre is as low as possible.
BMW 1 Series
In the front seats of the BMW 1 Series travel well even people high in the rear not. In front, the seats are good (especially with the option of seats optional) and the driving position very comfortable for almost everybody. It is indicated for a car valued who go sit under and stretched his legs, like a coupe.

The rear seats have some drawbacks. In the version with five doors bodywork access is not convenient (the form of backdoors is irregular, as are small, leave little room for access). In either of the two bodies, the space in the rear seats is just for two people.
All versions have six air bags, stop lamps and variable surface-type tires’ Run Flat ‘, which can shoot without pressure for a few miles at a low speed.

BMW 1 Series

Other elements that may have a new range of Series 1 is an adaptive lighting system with light bending and side lighting and a connection (near the parking brake) devices for portable music or memories with USB connection. The connection type mini jack is standard, USB is optional.
Although optional equipment can have a very abundant (where there are elements very interesting), Series 1 (like other BMW) have little serial and options are generally expensive. There are options that should be standard on a car of this price, as networks on the back of the rear seats and in the trunk or reading lamps.
All versions of Series 1 may have an option called ‘M Sports Package "which includes, inter alia, certain decorative elements to the bodywork and larger wheels.
Regarding the above, the new 1 Series has certain aesthetic changes and equipment, but the most striking change is in the range of engines (all new versions are spending significantly less than the previous ones and some are more powerful).
